Are You A Rainmaker? Then Swarm Wants YOU!

30 09 2009

Rainmaker_front
Happy Birthday to us! Swarm  recently celebrated our one-year mark and we’re proud to have some amazing clients under our belt, including national brands like the ASPCA, CorePower Yoga, CNN, and Cloudveil (to name a few).

Things are going swimmingly at Swarm, and because of that, we’re looking to expand our team…and that’s where you come in. If you or someone you know are a Swarm Rainmaker (aka: a Rockstar Business Development Executive) who can identify and qualify new business opportunities to expand Swarm’s portfolio…well then, this job’s for YOU.

The ideal Swarm Rainmaker has at LEAST five years of sales experience with a proven track record. That, and they understand and love the social media space we all live in,  as well as thrive in a start-up entrepreneurial environment Swarm has come to call home.

More requirements are listed below, but more than anything, we’d love to talk to you or anyone you know who fits this description. Think you have the perfect Swarm Rainmaker in your back pocket? Email us (at lauren@swarmcollective.com or lindsay@swarmcollective.com) and let us know! And hey, if you’re responsible for introducing us to the latest and greatest Swarm Team member, we’ll give you something extra special as our thanks. Swarm’s word.

Swarm Rainmaker Job Requirements:
o      Social Media savvy is a MUST
o      Proven sales track record is also CRITICAL
o      Specialty in working with start-ups and small agencies preferred
o      Solid Rolodex is awesome…because who doesn’t role with an entourage these days?
o      The best Rainmaker must be skilled at introducing new products and experienced in sales to conclude the process with signed contracts.
o      5 years of sales experience (minimum)
o      Self-motivated, passionate about sales and social media, and the ability to thrive under pressure are all good things

Compensation Commensurate With Experience

Now who’s stepping up to the plate?

The best new websites, video games and startup ideas often come from this amazing Conference held in Austin every year in March.

So please, help Swarm Collective get the swarm it deserves by voting for our SXSW Panel! Every vote counts and if we get chosen to present at next year’s conference, we’ll send each and every one of you a personalized thank you and maybe even a small token of our appreciation.

Join the Quest: Yim Gnome Is On the Prowl

5 06 2009

Yim Gnome We at Swarm get pretty excited about out-of-the-box ideas. The more creative the better, we think. It’s the reason we fell in love with a garden gnome named Yim Gnome earlier this year—a foot-tall plastic Boston Red Sox gnome who travels the country with people who think he’s cool and post pictures about him on Facebook (he’s got a few hundred friends–so popular) and Twitter (#yimgnome).

When we took Yim with us to SXSW in Austin, TX in March, we found out that lots of  other people, like the Whrrl team out of Los Angeles, thought Yim Gnome was cool too. It got us thinking—what fuels the viral aspect of any good social media marketing campaign? If its something physical and tangible, what makes it a hit? On June 1st, we set out to find out.

In partnership with Whrrl, a web-based application that lets people share their real-world experiences as they happen from the web and mobile phone, we at Swarm have crafted a physical viral experiment using Yim Gnome as the catalyst that we launched on June 1st! Over a 90-day period, Yim will be hosted by savvy social media influencers in 12 different cities around the country starting with Brett Petersel (@brett) from Mashable at Internet Week in NYC. Yim’s goal is to find love and to see the most places and meet the most people along the way. The best story wins. Want in? Email us (lindsay@swarmcollective.com, lauren@swarmcollective.com) and we’ll see if we can get you on the schedule!

What are Swarm’s and Whrrl’s goals? So glad you asked. Here they are:

• To encourage as many people as possible in as many locations as possible, both nationally and internationally, to connect with and share stories about Yim Gnome using Whrrl platform.

• To document experiences with each person, in each place with uploaded images and story-driven content using Whrrl platform.
• To generate virality through physical human-to-human connection, capitalizing on herd mentality of people wanting to be part of a fun, quirky movement.
• Create and prove hypotheses that including a physical element to any marketing campaign will fuel its virality.
• But most importantly, our goal is to create laughter with people and let people enjoy the lighter side of life. There’s power in that.
Want to join the fun? Follow Yim Gnome on Whrrl, Twitter (#yimgnome) or Facebook. Or post a comment and let us know what you think. We’ll be publishing our findings this fall, so stay tuned!

The Power Of Swarm

21 01 2009
UPDATE: Co-Founders of Swarm Collective, Lauren Cook & Lindsay Yaw, were recently identified as one of the “Ten Social Media People You Should Meet”

———————

78% of people trust the recommendations of others (versus 14% who trust advertisements). It’s about a dialogue between you and them.

People are like bees. We like to create things together; go to cool places others like to go; protect those we care about; and share secrets with our friends. But every single one of us has a mighty impressive sting.

Enter The Power of The Swarm.

It’s where one person can become the voice of millions; where one conversation can lead to a crusade; and where you, your friends, your foes, and strangers among us are conversation catalysts eating at the same dinner table.

We at Swarm Collective believe in inspiring people to mobilize around your brand by using the power of the individual and the collective through SOCIAL MEDIA. Why? Because we are marketing to a swarm that shares wisdom within itself, moves on a whim, and disregards obtrusive guidance from others. Therefore…

We listen, engage, collaborate, and respond.

People are like bees.
